Claims Information

Can I claim for Osteopathy on my Private Health Cover?

Most private health insurance funds give refunds on osteopathic treatment. The amount of refund will depend on your insurance company and the plan you are on. You will need to check with your fund / insurer before you start treatment to confirm your level of cover. If your health fund is a member of HICAPS we can swipe your card and you can be reimbursed for your refund there and then on the spot.

Do I need a referral from my GP?

No, not if you are attending the clinic as a private patient.

Do you accept Workers Compensation referrals?

Yes. Our osteopaths are recognised to treat Workers Compensation referrals. You need to bring the following documents when you come for your initial consultation:

  • A referral from your GP for osteopathic treatment, detailing the injury date and site(s); A letter from your insurance company, stating your claim has been accepted; and
  • Your claim number and the address of the insurance company, which may be listed in the above letter

Upon establishment of the above information, the clinic can bill the insurance company directly on your behalf. Disclaimer: Please note that on cancellation or withdrawal by the insurer, any outstanding fees are the your responsibility.

Is osteopathy available on Medicare?

Medicare rebate for part of the cost of osteopathic treatment is available for patients on Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) Programs as referred from your GP.
